Your first visit

Understand your situation before discussing treatment.

The first consultation is a time for listening, assessment and explanation. You can ask questions and understand the steps needed for a complete orthodontic diagnosis.

What happens during the consultation?

  1. 01

    Your concerns

We begin with your concerns, expectations, any discomfort you may be experiencing and the reasons for your visit.

  2. 02

    Clinical examination

Dr Cristina assesses the teeth, bite, facial balance and relevant functional factors. For a child, growth and dental development are also considered.

  3. 03

    An initial explanation

The principal observations are explained to you. When several options could be considered, their differences are presented in accessible terms.

  4. 04

    Useful examinations

Depending on the situation, photographs, an intraoral scan or imaging may be recommended to complete the diagnosis. Their purpose is explained to you.

  5. 05

    Treatment plan

Once the necessary information has been gathered, the plan defines the objectives, proposed appliance, stages, practical requirements and estimated duration.

  6. 06

    Fees and next steps

Fees, payment arrangements, administrative steps and the treatment schedule are explained before treatment begins.

Before your appointment

  • Note any questions you would like to ask.
  • If available, bring recent relevant dental documents or examinations.
  • For a child, provide information about current dental care and relevant medical matters through the secure channel indicated by the clinic.
  • Arrive a few minutes early when administrative formalities need to be completed.

The medical and orthodontic questionnaire must not be sent through the website's public form. The clinic will indicate an appropriate secure method when available.

Fees and payment

Every treatment plan is individual. A precise quotation can therefore only be prepared after the necessary assessment and examinations.

When treatment is confirmed, the fees and what they include are clearly explained. Staged payment may be available, with an initial payment followed by instalments during treatment.

Mutuality and insurance

Reimbursement from a Belgian mutuality or supplementary insurer depends on factors including age, treatment type, the timing of the application and the individual policy.

Before treatment begins, the team helps identify the necessary documents. We also recommend confirming your individual cover directly with your mutuality or insurer.

Adult orthodontic treatment does not generally receive the same compulsory cover as treatment for children, although some supplementary dental or private insurance policies may contribute depending on the contract.

Cancellation and rescheduling

If you need to cancel or reschedule, please notify the clinic at least 24 hours before your appointment.

If you arrive significantly late, the appointment may need to be rescheduled to avoid delaying subsequent patients.
